Finding the Main Idea

To find the main idea, follow these steps: 

1.  Find the topic. 

2.  Read the paragraph again.

3.  Write a complete sentence that explains the most important idea about the topic.

Your main idea should include:

1.  Topic

2.  Statement that explains important idea about the topic

**Make sure your main idea is a COMPLETE SENTENCE!
